The Heart for the City Project continues to move forward as we look toward the fall of 2019. As of early August, the excavation reached a depth of roughly 28 feet-a depth of around 86 feet is required for the new building foundations and underground parking structure. The work of excavation, shoring, underpinning, and drainage will continue until early 2020. In the last few months, the Project Oversight Committee analyzed the financial aspect of the project and presented these findings to the congregation at the Annual General Meeting on June 5th.
As we move forward with the Heart for the City Project, we will be embarking on a fundraising campaign starting this fall. This campaign will focus on funding the furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) for our newly renovated and expanded facilities--spaces that are built and furnished for the mission and work of the church. We look forward to sharing more with you in September.
Throughout the fall, the Project Oversight Committee will continue to consider various options for alternative ministry, office, and storage spaces. Currently, we are on schedule to be displaced at around the end of 2020 or early 2021. We look forward to working with community partners to find dedicated spaces that will allow us to continue what we are doing, but also to grow.
We ask for your continued prayer and support for the Heart for the City project.
Have a blessed summer!
