Introducing David Nacho
We are pleased to announce that David Nacho will be joining us as the Director of Street Ministries on January 15, 2021.
David will provide leadership for Shelter and related ministries, and together with our volunteers, work to further integrate these ministries into the life of the church by fostering a culture that encourages congregants to extend friendship and service to those who are most vulnerable. Alongside the pastoral team, David will expand the work of Shelter by developing new initiatives and strengthening partnerships with downtown evangelical churches, local faith-based organizations, and community partners. He will also work to facilitate continued ministry among the homeless and urban poor during our displacement.
Some of you might have known David and Suzannah well as both of them have been our CBM Partners in Mission for many years. David was born and raised in Bolivia in a Christian family and was baptized in 1994. In 1997, he immigrated to Canada, where he became a member of Grandview Calvary Baptist Church.
After finishing his degree in Communications at Simon Fraser University, David began his studies at Regent College, where he and Suzannah met. David received a Master of Divinity (2004) and a Master of Theology at Regent College (2009). He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. program at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies.
David and Suzannah got married in 2006. Since then, they have served with Canadian Baptist Ministries in Latin America in various positions, including youth ministry, community development, church mobilizing and, most recently, theological education at graduate and grassroots levels. David and Suzannah have three children: Sofia, Andrés, and Anna Laura.
Let us keep David and his family in our prayers as they prepare to move from Costa Rica to Vancouver and begin this exciting new chapter at FBC. Let us welcome them as Christ welcomed us.
