“What do you think is the most important part of this story?” I ask looking around at the circle.

“That God is in every place.” A seven-year-old girl pipes in.

We had just listened to the story of Israel’s exile and return and the kids were still contemplating the significance. Hearing the stories of the Bible with the children at FBC is a highlight in my week. I love gathering with them and wondering about how God has encountered his people and learning together who God is.

In these next four Sundays we enter the season of Advent, a time of waiting and preparation for the birth of Christ. Together we will hear the story of a baby born in a stable amidst all the animals. Clearly, we have a God who loves children and meets them right where they are at.

Please pray for our kids and families, that they would experience Christ’s peace and joy this Christmas.  Pray for our volunteers and all the people who have loved our children during this year. Lastly, we welcome any of you back who have been away and encourage you to reconnect with our community as vaccines are extended to children.

May Christ’s joy and love fill your hearts and minds this Christmas.
