Everyone grows a little differently.
Generally speaking, if a person is not growing, then there is something wrong.
Once a person leaves high school and sets out to be an adult, there are some questions that need to be asked:
"What kind of person am I?"
"What qualities and characteristics define me?"
"Who am I growing to become?"
When we look at the Bible, we are encouraged to...
"grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
(2 Pet 3:18)
Sometimes we believe that this means going to church for a long time or knowing lots about God or memorizing lots of the Bible. But if we understand that being mature or "grown up" is more than living lots of years, then we can also understand that growing in Christ is more than lots of years in a church pew.
Growing up means having character. And having character involves a variety of different qualities and characteristics.
The Young Adults Ministry (ages 18-25) at FBC invites you to explore some of these specific qualities that are part of godly character; part of growing up in Christ. We believe that our hearts is where God wants to see his work done in our lives, because when our hearts are renewed and made whole, every part of our lives are changed to follow Christ.
