Our hope is that First will be more than a place you come for an hour or two on Sunday. We hope that you will find community, grow as a disciple, and discover ways to serve others, especially our neighbours.
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions that explores the basics of the Christian faith. Typically run over 9-12 weeks, it allows anyone to explore life, faith, and God in a friendly, open and informal environment. In each session, there’s food, a short talk, and discussion in small groups. For more information, click here.
After the Sunday worship service, meet one of our pastors under the Welcome banner to hear more about Starting Point. Starting Point is a great way to meet people, hear all about our church, and learn about how you can be part of it. The meeting will last 20-30 minutes and coffee and snacks will be served. For more information, please contact Rebecca Thornber.
Connection Groups are small groups that meet at the church, in homes, and in various settings around the city during the week for shared learning, praying, caring, and serving. For more information, click here.
This opportunity is for those who have come to faith in Jesus Christ. If you are interested in being baptized as a sign of your faith in Jesus Christ, let us know today! Advance sign-ups are required here.
Church membership is the sealing of a covenant with God and with like-minded, "like-committed" persons to walk together as God's people and Jesus' disciples. We believe the process of being initiated into the household of God begins with the point of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, is given public expression in baptism, and comes to completion in church membership.
CHILDREN & PRETEENS
YOUTH & YOUNG ADULTS
We seek to create a place where our youth and young adults can hear the call to Jesus, grow with Jesus, and be sent by Jesus to do the things God has uniquely gifted them to do. For more information, please click here.
ESL & INTERNATIONALS
Vancouver is one of the most culturally diverse cities in Canada and in the world. We know that when a person or family newly arrives, the barriers of language and loneliness can make the city seem daunting. We are here as a community to help people overcome these barriers and help them follow Jesus with a heart for our city and beyond. For more information, please contact Stuart Campbell (for Internationals) and Barbara Forster (for ESL) or click here.
In just 10 years, 1 in 4 members of a given church family will be 55 or older. This emerging trend will have significant ministry consequences over the next 20-25 years for churches and the communities they serve.
