Prayer is one of the primary means by which we, as believers, both speak to and hear from God.
It is an important part of our Christian experience, both individually and as a corporate body of believers. We at First value prayer as a lifestyle, as foundational in our relationship with Christ.
Scripture contains foundational truths providing a basis for prayer ministry:
- The Bible commands us to pray (Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2).
- Prayer is powerful and effective (Hebrews 4:16, James 5:16).
- God hears and answers prayer (1 John 5:14-15).
- Praying for others is in accordance with the mission of Jesus (Isaiah 61: 1-7).
“The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.”
Psalm 145:18 (NASB)
We gather to pray:
Prayer at 9 | Sundays from 9am-9:45am
For those with a burden to pray and who are already coming downtown for the morning service. We will pray for God’s will to be done in earth as it is in heaven. We will pray for the world situation in the news the past week and that morning, as well as for the ministry of the day before us at FBC.
