Maturing Adults

Demographics in the North American church are making unprecedented shifts. In just 10 years, 1 in 4 members of a given church family will be 55 or older. At First, we're making it a priority to engage and care for mature adults in a meaningful way.

Maturing adults (55+/-) are now the fastest growing age group in the country. This emerging trend will have significant ministry consequences over the next 20-25 years for churches and the communities they serve. There will need to be an intentional approach to discern and provide ministries with and for this generation of maturing adults, which will help them personally flourish and deepen in their Christian faith. The challenges and opportunities resulting from this growing number of maturing adults are unprecedented. It could be a time for the church to provide educational, recreational, social, and ministry options for the growing numbers of volunteers who will have more time and resources and who will want meaningful ways to care and serve others. The MAM is committed to pray, discern, and provide leadership in implementing new and creative ways to better respond.
