Care at FBC
The Pastoral Care Ministry at First trains and equips volunteers to care for the pastoral needs of our church community.
We train volunteers to provide three different types of pastoral care:
Elder Care: Caring for individuals who aren't able to leave their home through home visits or access to worship service recordings. Opportunity for companionship or transportation to appointments.
Practical Care: Caring for the practical needs of members of our church community. These needs may include: emergency babysitting, transportation to doctor or dentist, small handyman projects for the elderly, short-term shelter, delivery of hot meals, basic computer and tech support, general financial counsel (e.g. tax forms), etc.
Crisis Care: Caring for and walking alongside people who are going through a particularly difficult or painful season of their lives, including the loss of a loved one, a marriage, a job, a relationship, health, or faith.
Pastoral Care Ministers are support volunteers who encourage people to take responsibility for their own lives and make wise choices in order that they can continue to grow and mature in their faith journey.
If you could benefit from any of the services or if you are interested in becoming a pastoral care volunteer, then please contact us or complete the form below.
